WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR ?

Any business selling alcohol, including small pubs, retailers, large nightclubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and sports facilities may need trained security staff qualified as door supervisors who hold an SIA licence.

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work legally as a door supervisor.

COURSE LEARNING MATERIAL INCLUDES:

  • Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice Exam and Practical Assessment)
  • Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice Exam and Practical Assessment)
  • Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice exam and Practical Assessment)
  • Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice exam and practical assessment and Practical Assessment)

All exams and assessments must be completed and passed to obtain this qualification and apply for a SIA licence

REQIUREMENTS:

  • Aged 18+
  • Pre-learning will be provided and is required to be completed before the first day attending the course
  • ACT Awareness Certificate
  • ACT Security Certificate
  • English Language Skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking equivalent to the following:
  • B2 Level qualification on the Homes Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications
  • B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Level 3 Emergency First Aid certificate with at least 12 months of validity.
  • Completion and certification of a Level 3 Emergency First Aid course is required prior to starting the security training. If you do not already hold this qualification, you may opt for our bundled offer to attend the 1-Day Level 3 Emergency First Aid course on a date before the security training. The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor Private Security Industry (Top-Up) is for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements

  • Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice Exam)
  • Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Multiple Choice Exam)
  • Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Question Exam and Practical Assessment)

All exams and assessments must be completed and passed to obtain this qualification and apply for a SIA licence

This qualification is intended for individuals looking to perform manned guarding duties on premises, excluding roles that solely involve CCTV operation or fall under Close Protection, Door Supervisor, or Cash and Valuables in Transit categories.
