WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR ?

This qualification is designed for individuals looking to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. It meets the training requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for emergency first-aiders in organisations that have determined, through their first-aid needs assessment, that staff should be trained to this level.

COURSE LEARNING MATERIAL INCLUDES:

The qualification covers essential knowledge, including the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and how to assess incidents. It also includes practical skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using an automated external defibrillator (AED), administering first aid to a choking casualty, managing external bleeding and hypovolemic shock, and treating minor injuries. This qualification is accessed by:

  • Practical assessment
  • Multiple-choice Assessment

All assessments must be completed and passed to obtain this qualification, valid for 3 years from the date of achievement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Age 16+ to receive this certificate and assume the responsibility of being a first aider in the workplace
  • A minimum of Level 1 English Language Skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR ?

This qualification is designed for individuals seeking to become paediatric first-aiders in the workplace, responsible for the care and safety of infants and children. It is suitable for those already working in or preparing to enter the industry and aligns with the paediatric first aid requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage

COURSE LEARNING MATERIAL INCLUDES:

Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive. The qualification also covers how to administer first aid to an infant or a child with head and spinal injuries, who is choking or suffering from anaphylaxis. This qualification is accessed by:

  • Practical assessment
  • Written Assessment

All assessments must be completed and passed to obtain this qualification, valid for 3 years from the date of achievement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Age 16+ to receive this certificate and assume the responsibility of being a paediatric first aider in the workplace
